With Zen-like immediacy and humor rarely found in modern Christian writing, this collection of poems by Orthodox priest James Krueger is sure to enlighten and amuse. While starkly reminding us of the difficulties inherent in a life of renunciation for the sake of Christ, each poem is nevertheless an oblation to the world. Herein is found the collapse of false hopes for the hope of salvation. Here is found searing commentary and pert levity. Here is found the mystical serenity and wide expanses of a life hidden in God. Here, the reader is escorted through the inner landscapes of the soul as well as the Catskill Mountain landscapes that Krueger has loved so deeply, the two often merging indistinguishably into one.
