Saint Irenaeus Prayer Retreat

This mostly silent prayer retreat will be punctuated by readings from the great second century saint and bishop, Irenaeus of Lyons, whose feast day is celebrated on the 11^th. Saint Irenaeus’ writings entitle him to high honor in the Church. He not only helped lay the foundations of Christian theology in general, but exposed the errors of the life-denying Gnostics, proclaiming at once the goodness of creation and its Creator, and the true calling of mankind. Participants can begin either Thursday or Friday, leaving Saturday or staying through Sunday Divine Liturgy. Therefore, this program will be especially attractive to people with Sunday obligations. All participants have an opportunity to receive individual spiritual direction during the program.
