I have not sent these "prophets," yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. Jeremiah 23:21.
This retreat will help sort out a great deal of confusion that modern people have about prophecy. Is prophecy telling the future? Is it being a revolutionary or social activist? We will look at the biblical and patristic sources to understand what the gift of prophecy is, its place in Christian life, and to discern more clearly the prophets among us from those who have run but were not called by God. In commemoration of the Prophet Ezekiel, whose feast day is August 3.
